My life in Majengo - Episode 1

Life is such a long journey that has got many hurdles. In life, only the strong survive and I believe I am one of them. Am proud of my life, all that is left is for God to decide my fate at the Judgment day. I have lived in this small town known as Majengo ever since I was 10 years of age. Now am 21 with my birthday having passed recently. This is my experience in Majengo!!
In my eternity as a resident of Majengo, I have lost over 15 close friends within a span of 5 years. This is something that has made me even stronger than before. Whats funny is that all of these friends have died through theft incidents. I don't really know whether to call it bad luck or what! Am just too puzzled why they all had to die.
I am a humble, some quote me as shy but that's not the case. Its just that am Anti social with a good reason. A person who has seen 15 of his closest buddies go to the ground has a cold heart and normally doesn't blend in very well with the public. Its like am a public enemy.
I know you are wondering how I lost all of my 15 friends! Am I a gangster as well? The answer is a straight no! Am an IT specialist who has seen it all. Of course all of us have seen it all but under different circumstances and places. What you experienced is not what I experienced so there is no need of us arguing about who has seen it all. What matters is that you learned a valuable lesson through your own experience.
Everyday I hear somebody has been shot dead, I pray it’s not someone close to me. It hurts loosing those close and dear to you. At times I wish the killings would stop but this seems to be a fantasy. Majengo has made me a man and a true warrior. I would have called myself a Maasai warrior but am not, too bad.
Now am able to cop in whichever kind of situation on this God forsaken earth. Am able to stand up on my two feet and shout to the heights of the mountain because I have seen it all. I have lost friends and I know that this ain’t the beginning nor the end so I bare with it. Gun shots are normal to anyone who lives in Majengo. No one runs nowadays once they hear a shot coz they are used to it. I believe that everyone is a suspect in Majengo no matter what you do. All you have to ensure is that you are not caught in the wrong place at the wrong time for you to lose your dear life.
I am closing this short episode with a certain saying that I acquired from a certain Ghanaian Movie that I used to watch when I was still a child. It says "LIFE IS A TEACHER.THE MORE WE LIVE THE MORE WE LEARN"
Keep tuned to this blog to learn some more about all that I have gone through. I will be explaining all that I have gone through bit by bit so keep it locked right here. I would also love to read your own blogs and hear what you have to share. Please contribute.
